Sign PDFs, the honest way.
The latest Tumbler adds cryptographic digital signatures with no third-party signing service, plus a matching trust directory right here on this site.
Sign on your own terms
Tumbler creates your signing identity locally and keeps the private key in your system keychain. Signing needs no account and no subscription. Documents carry a real ISO-standard signature other readers can verify.
Trusted timestamps
Each signature can carry a timestamp from a free public authority, so the signing time is independently verifiable, not just your computer's clock. Offline? It falls back gracefully.
A simple trust directory
Publish your signing certificate to getflanders.com so counterparties can confirm it really belongs to your email address. Publishing is confirmed by a link sent to that address. Only public certificate details are listed, never your private key.
Also recently added: remove Bates numbering to re-number after last-minute changes, signature and stamp resizing that keeps its proportions, a page grid with multi-select for moving and deleting pages, and clearer handling of scanned and rotated documents.
Paperwork, without the paper cuts.
The everyday PDF jobs, done properly: no upsells, no "premium" padlocks on the button you actually need.
Forms that behave
Interactive fields render exactly where the document puts them, boxed character cells fill one letter per box, and saved entries show up in any other PDF reader.
→ Court forms and official paperwork, filled right.
Sign & stamp
Draw or type a signature, keep a library of saved ones, then place, move and resize on the page. Stamps and images too.
→ Sign and return a contract in under a minute.
Annotate anything
Highlight, underline, freehand pen and sticky notes, written into the PDF as real annotations that other readers understand.
→ Mark up a draft and send it anywhere.
Edit text
Click any line to correct it, or add new text anywhere on the page. Honest about it too: edits use clean cover-and-redraw, not magic reflow.
→ Fix the typo without hunting for the original file.
Pages under control
A full page grid shows every page at once: drag to rearrange with the page floating under your cursor, or right-click any thumbnail and send a page straight to a typed position. Rotate, delete, extract, insert and merge whole documents.
→ Rebuild a scanned mess into a tidy document.
Legal bundle tools
Bates numbering across every page, bookmarks written into the PDF outline, and a sweep that removes blank scanned pages.
→ Court-ready bundles without a paralegal evening.
Find it fast
Full-text search with match highlighting, page thumbnails, bookmarks and text selection that actually selects the text.
→ The clause you need, in seconds.
Digital signatures, no middleman
Sign a PDF with a real cryptographic signature. Your key is created on your machine and stays in your system keychain, with an optional trusted timestamp. Other readers, including Adobe Acrobat, can verify it, and the shield shows green while a document is unchanged, amber once modified.
→ Tamper-evident signing without a subscription service.
Easy on the eyes
Tint the page soft, sepia or grey for comfortable reading and pick your field highlight colour. Display only: saves and prints stay untouched.
→ Long reading sessions without the glare.
Questions, answered
Is there a free PDF editor for Mac?
Yes. Tumbler is a native PDF viewer and editor for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows, free while in beta. It fills forms, signs, annotates, edits text and manages pages without a subscription.
Can Tumbler fill in official PDF forms like court forms?
Yes. Tumbler renders interactive AcroForm fields exactly where the document puts them, including boxed character cells, and saves your entries into the PDF so any other reader shows them.
Can I sign a PDF with Tumbler?
Yes. Draw or type a signature, keep a library of saved signatures, and place, move and resize them on the page. Signatures are flattened into the document on save, the standard approach for signature workflows.
Does Tumbler change how my PDF looks when I save?
No. Viewing comforts such as the tinted page background and highlighted form fields are display-only. Saved and printed PDFs keep their original appearance.
How much does Tumbler cost?
Free during beta, with signed auto-updates built in. No subscription.
No subscription.
Tumbler is free while in beta. Like Flanders, it will become a one-time perpetual licence at 1.0: the app you bought keeps working forever, renew only if you want newer builds.
